About me

Ameren is a Mexican American freelance illustrator based in California. She grew up in a traditional Catholic Mexican household and helps run the family business. Always exposed to the arts in the form of ceramics, she went from pursuing a career in the biology field and began to relentlessly chase after the cinematic arts. Eventually she found a passion in illustration, and making characters and worlds come to life in the pages of books, on paper, and on screen. Ameren has always had a fascination with magic and the magical creatures that come along with it. Constantly chasing after new stories and learning about different folktales, especially those that come from a Hispanic root. Ameren is dedicated to assisting and in creating a more accessible and welcoming environment in the stories we consume and the arts as a whole.
